Our History
Beijing SMIC Private School is located in southeast Beijing, in the Yizhuang BDA, Beijing’s largest hi-tech economic development zone. Founded in 2005 to serve families employed by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Company (SMIC), it now enrolls many students from outside the company as well. The school employs over 300 teachers (including 50 expatriate staff) that serve over 2000 students from Pre-K to Grade 9 in both English and Chinese tracks. SMIC English Track is a highly academic international school-style division based on US curriculum and standards. Whether our students pursue academics, sports, or other extra-curricular activities, the staff and active school community encourage their efforts to aim for excellence, while retaining a sense of honor, community, and joy.

AVERAGE CLASS SIZE
Our students enjoy the necessary attention from teachers with smaller class sizes. The teacher:student ratio is currently 1:6 which only improves with our skill and elective courses.
FAQs
On the main campus, students can enter the halls at 7:40am each morning with classes starting at 7:45am. Classes end at 3:05pm when students can begin their extracurricular activities or take the bus home.
The high school campus begins at 8:20am each day and classes conclude at 3:30pm.
Students are not required to own a laptop however it is highly recommended that each student have a laptop or tablet available to use at school. With the changing times it is more important than ever for students to learn to use their devices in a responsible way to enhance their learning potentials.
Yes, the bus line includes multiple lines in Yizhuang, Majuqiao Line and Wangjing Line. There are currently 16 shuttle lines to pick up students.

Classroom visits are allowed if they are set up in advance with the english track office. SMIC wants to promote interactive classrooms, and has designated visit dates where parents can visit multiple classes at certain times. Please contact the ET office to set up your school visit!
Scholarships are not offered at Beijing SMIC Private School. We provide an exceptional education for all students at an amazing, affordable price compared to other international/private schools.
Extracurricular activities are not a requirement, however we strongly encourage all of our students to participate in afterschool activities including advanced learning, sports teams, and character building.
Beijing SMIC does not provide students with housing. Students are required to leave campus after classes and extracurricular activities are completed each day.
Students & parents must complete the Student Checkout Procedure before withdrawaling from Beijing SMIC. The process begins with notifying the ET office and receiving a Student Check-Out Form.
