I am Yena and I've been for 6 years. I spent 6 happy years at SMIC and they are unforgettable. SMIC is a fantastic school that you can learn and study with laughter in the class. Because SMIC taught and gave us abundant and solid knowledge, this made me more adaptable. The things they teach and their way of teaching is matching with international schools and this helped me to blend quickly and smoothly in my new school.
I moved to Singapore at December of 2023 which is before the winter vacation of my sixth grade. CIS also introduces to the new students about the school and helped us adapt to a new environment. Before school started, all the teachers as well as the leaders created an orientation assembly with only the new students to let them know about the school. After entering the classroom, the teacher offered me another student to let her/him lead me around the school to first finish some basic things. The teacher encourages us to answer questions freely with no stress and to think freely. Singapore respects every person from every culture or country and everyone is treated equally. Therefore everyone in CIS learns together forming a big family. CIS rarely gives homework which shows the importance of asking questions and communicating in class, and reading. CIS emphasises sports, and you can choose from your hobbies because there's a variety of sport teams, like me, I am in the swim team and I learn skateboarding at school.
Because there's a good base at SMIC, this helped me blend in CIS without difficulty. I still miss SMIC a lot today. Thank you SMIC and thank you CIS.
