A theater course typically explores the practical and theoretical aspects of performing arts, covering areas like acting techniques, script analysis, stagecraft (lighting, set design, costumes) and managing. Students engage in hands-on activities such as rehearsals, improvisation, and performances. The course often emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, preparing students for roles in performance, production, or further academic study in theater arts.

Public Speaking teaches essential communication skills for school, work, and everyday life. Students learn to speak clearly, organize ideas, and deliver messages effectively. The course focuses on ethical, well-structured, and engaging communication—both verbal and nonverbal. Students practice researching topics, analyzing audiences, and presenting speeches with confidence. These skills help in high school, college, and future careers, especially in leadership roles. By the end of the course, students become better speakers and more critical thinkers when evaluating information.

This course introduces students to the principles of integrated marketing communications (IMC). Students will learn to develop cohesive advertising and promotional strategies that align with brand objectives and resonate with target audiences. Key components of IMC, including advertising, sales promotion, public relations, direct marketing, and digital media, will be explored through real-world examples and industry case studies.  We examine how consumer behavior, media planning, and creative strategy influence campaign success. Students will build a foundation in strategic thinking, message development, and media integration, preparing them to contribute effectively to marketing communications in various settings.  Assessments include a campaign analysis project, a midterm exam on foundational IMC concepts, and a final project where students develop a complete IMC campaign, culminating in a presentation. Weekly application assignments will help students connect textbook concepts to real-world marketing scenarios, enhancing their practical understanding.

Art and architecture are fundamental to all cultures. From cave paintings to the pyramids of Egypt to the works of Van Gogh, this course will explore the history of the world and its civilizations through the lens of art. Students will be able to conduct contextual analysis, identifying the cultures that produced these artworks, their periods and styles, as well as visual analysis—a skill that will be valuable in various fields of study and work. Students will conclude the course with a project where they will assume the role of an art curator, creating a virtual exhibition with a theme of their choice (it can be a historical exhibition or an artistic narrative). This hands-on experience will enhance their understanding of art and its cultural significance. 

In this course, students explore dystopian fiction through young adult novels, analyzing themes and societal issues. They'll engage in creative projects like presentations and writing “last” chapters, enhancing their analytical and creative skills while questioning the world and imagining future possibilities. 

How did the universe start?  What the heck is a “quantum” and why does it break logic? These are questions that are explored in this course.

We will cruise through the Universe in both its grandiose magnificence of cosmology and its minute chaos of quantum mechanics with facilitated discussions and short presentations of physics (think edutainment!) and philosophy (no Niche’s here!).  We will start with the theories of creation of the universe, then move on to a deep dive into the puzzling cases of the initial state of the universe and finally conclude this stage of our journey with different accounts of the universe's seeming property of fine tuning.  We attempt answering the question “how did the universe come to be?”  Finally, we end our journey at the weird, weird world of quantum physics.  No reports given in this course.  Assessments are multimodal and revolve around what you find interesting.
